- The shape of the Scout Badge means that a scout can point the right way in life as truly as the compass in the field.
- The three points of the trefoil stand for the three parts of the Scout Oath.
- The Two stars represent Truth and Knowledge.
- The Eagle represents Freedom.
- The Sheild represents the Boy Scout's readiness to defend that Freedom.
- The Scroll, turned up at the ends, reminds the Scout to smile while he does his duty.
- The knot is a joining knot and repinds the Scout to, "Do a Good Turn daily."
